B&W Balls

17.42
Think sesame seeds are only a savoury ingredient? think again! They work wonderfully in desserts. I was looking for a way to get lots of goodness into my newly vegan husband (yay!) and came up with these. They have a strong molasses flavour, hint of spice and are packed full of omega 3's and calcium (amongst other things). These sweet nut truffles are the perfect daily bite size treat. If you're not keen on molasses feel free to sub in another sweetener and up the quantities of carob & spices.
B&W Balls
Makes  approximately 35 balls (55-60 cals per ball)
1/2 cup pepitas
1/2 cup almonds
1 tbsp sesame seeds
1cup boiling water
4 tbsp carob
2 tbsp molasses
1 tbsp mixed spices
1 cup flaxseed meal (ground flax)
5 tsp sweetner (natvia)
sesame seeds to roll in- approx 3 tbsp
  • soak almonds & pepitas overnight OR pour boiling water over and leave for 15 mins
  • blend well
  • add flax
  • process
  • add spices, molasses, carob
  • process
  • oil hands- roll into heaped tsp size balls
  • roll in sesame seeds
  • refrigerate/freeze to keep for an extended period
  • enjoy!
Hope you're all well and happy,
